About Me

If the obviousness of the title hasn't already given you a clue, this page is all about me. I just wanted to do something with that "About" link I have in my template at the top of the page.

Seen me around the blogosphere, but never quite known who I was? Like my outlandish stories, and wish to know more about me? Seen me following your blog, and want to verify that I'm not just another creepy stalker? (Although, with the last one, you can never be too sure.)

Well, today's your lucky day, because I'll be answering those questions, and more, in my FAQ section (see below).

FAQ-Frequently Annoying Asked Questions:

1. Who are you?
My name is Ginny here. My real name's not up for disclosure, but you can rest assured that I will find it perfectly acceptable if you refer to me as Ginny. In fact, I would be rather alarmed if you called me by my real name.

2. Where do you live?
Nephria, obviously. It's a wonderful place, rife with absolutely no snow, lots of spies, and absolutely no effective government system whatsoever.

3. How old are you?
I am in high school college (I'm getting older...) Make of that what you will.

4. What's your favorite hobby?
Reading, mostly. Writing (why else would I have a blog?). Art. I'm also a huge fan of delicious food, shiny things, and math problems. Hiking around random places, taking pictures without people in them.

5. Expand on what you meant in #4?
I love to read. My favorite author's Jodi Picoult, and anything I've read by her is absolutely wonderful. I also love Dan Brown's books, Shakespeare, and a good Hawthorne or J.D. Salinger short story. I'm also addicted to the folklores of ancient Chinese history, and I love making references to them.

I write plenty of things—almost anything, really. At school, I'm conditioned to write essays, reflections, literary analyses, and even short answers for free-response questions. But I obviously write other things. I write blog posts (hint: what this blog is made up of), I write purely fictional stories, I write pseudo-nonfiction, I write satirical articles, I write poems, and as time goes on, I'll probably write even more.

As for art, I think I could possibly be in love with romantic art. Turner's one of my favorites, but anything of that style is beautiful beyond words. My favorite mediums are graphite, ink, and oil paints.

Anything sweet is good on my menu of favorite foods, and I have a special craving for pie crusts. Math is self-explanatory. I love statistics and geometry. Love is an understatement. As for taking pictures, well, it's part of my love for anything art-related.

6. Shiny things?
SHINY THINGS!!?!?!?!?!! I LOVE SHINY THINGS!!! Ahem. Yeah. I love shiny things. They deserve a category all by themselves.

7. Why do you blog?
Check out my first post. It's the main reason I started blogging. As for why I've kept on blogging, well, it's because interesting things happen every day in my life. Really. I bet you're jealous already. I mean, even today, as I'm writing this, I've already figured out all the commands to unixkcd (including "locate raptor"), battled against my neighbor's dogs while getting the mail, and am halfway across the world virtually on my way to Easter Island (did you know that if you're all the way across the world, you technically wouldn't have left and would still be where you are now?) and beyond. I blog to keep track of all of these interesting things that happen.

8. Who are some of your favorite people in the blogosphere?
I absolutely, absolutely adore Tea and Gretchen, my fellow bloggers IRL. My favorite blogs (that I also follow) also include BonAppĂ©tempt, a delicious and inspiring blog to check out. (Also be sure to check out "Mom, why won't you read my blog?" while you're there.) Randall Munroe of xkcd is another favorite, although that may be stretching the limit a bit because his blog is only half the story (if even that).

9. How can I contact you?
Try reaching me at ginnyofnephria@gmail.com. Of course, a more direct way would be to just comment in one of my posts (if your question, concern, or comment applies to the post you're commenting on directly). I like comments a lot.

10. I love your display picture, can you make me one?
Sure! I have a lot of things on my hands, so it may take a while, but just tell me what you expect of your picture (i.e. hair color and style, eye color, body/blob color, name, name color, and background color), or send me a picture that you want me to reference, and I'll work on it. Remember, it may take a while.

11. Who is Allison Saint-Cross?
My best friend forever. Really. He's got his own blog (maybe), but he hasn't started really writing anything in it, so once he gets something going, I'll link you to his blog and you can learn all about him.

No, really. Allie's a sort of deity. He's in the business of misery, granting wishes in exchange for a price of despair. But he can grant any wish, provided you've got the means to pay for it. If you're really in a pinch and no one else can help you, I suggest you go ask him. But if there's even the remote possibility of anything else working, don't go to him. Ever.

12. You haven't answered my question yet!
Really? Well, I'm still working on my telepathic skills, so once I perfect them, I'll be able to know what questions you have and I'll put them here ahead of time. In the meantime, why don't you contact me (hint: see #9)?

Right, that's about all for now. If you're here already, why don't you read over my blog and my archives or something? I'm sure you'll find something interesting. I always do.
